Boudoir photography?
Boudoir photography is a form of photography that is a new trend for a wedding day gift from
a bride to her groom. These sexy photographs are taken wearing just a little or nothing
at all or sometimes completely dressed. What you wear is totally up to you and your comfortlevel. Boudoir images are not X-Rated, rather PG-13 or R, more like the classic
pinup’s that were popular years ago. Some
have implied nudity, where you are not wearing anything, or very little, but where
your most private parts are not showing. How much you show is all up to you.
The idea behind the session and the gift is to have fun and capture the images
that your special person will treasure for life. THIS IS YOUR SESSION.
Many brides and other people have had a boudoir session with us and we have
embraced this trend and offer services to compliment it. We offer small
mini-album style BLACK book gifts for your beloved, where the best of your boudoir
photos are bound together for you to present to him as a wedding day gift.
We shoot the images where you are most comfortable, either in your home, or
in a studio, or a private location of your choice. We strive to make you very
comfortable and relaxed during your special photo session. The results are a
sensual and tasteful collection of images that are sure to bring forth a smile
from him today and in the years to come!
What
are the Limits?
Our boudoir sessions are not meant to be X-Rated,
We do allow topless, sheer, nude and sensuous poses. If you are in doubt please
ask us before the shoot. Males and
Couples are allowed for a Boudoir shoot, the same limits do apply,
please ask before you schedule your shoot if you are wanting something you
think might be borderline.
When
you prepare for your Boudoir Session:
Your session gives you a chance to indulge yourself, to be as sexy as you
dare, express your different moods from playful to seductive. The important
thing is that you express who you are, let us worry
about bringing out the true beauty for your special person. Relax and have fun
with the session. You are welcome to and encouraged to bring a friend with you,
They can stay in another room if you like for the
shoot, or be there to help suggest poses and help you when needed with outfits,
etc.
Things to Bring to a Boudoir Session
The Number 1 thing to bring is a sexy fun attitude,
This shoot is as much for you to express yourself as it is for a gift for
him. That aside we suggest a couple
things:
A couple of changes of outfits (2
or 3) – This is a personal choice, but think what makes you look good. Do you
prefer bright colors, white lace, black lace, or something else.
Most guys love red colored lingerie, white lace to go with the whole wedding
theme. Try something he hasn’t seen yet or a favorite piece of lingerie, or
something personal like one of his work shirts and a tie, or just the tie. If you have wedding Lingerie, Slip, veil,
they work great also. A long lacy veil with nothing on under it and just
covering up key parts is sure to catch his eye.

Special items you might want, A
Rose, Rose petals (we will probably have some with us). This part is really up to you, ask us and
we’ll give you a few more ideas on what you want to bring.
Preparing for you Session
Get a good nights sleep, do whatever personal hygiene you
need the night before, giving any razor stubble or redskin type to return to
normal. Avoid tight fitting clothes and they will leave marks on your skin,
which while we can fix this it is much easier to prevent it. Avoid drinking for
courage, this don’t really help and can adversely affect your photographs. If
we are using your house just make sure you have things laid out you want to
wear. If we are using backdrops we need about a 10x10 area for setup and
shooting that is clear of any furniture or low hanging lights.
When should we
schedule our Boudoir Session and How long will it
take?
We need at least 2 weeks before you need your Album or
Prints, maybe a little longer. With that
being said, contact us about 2-3 weeks before that, during our busy season it
might take a while to get you scheduled for a session. We will work with you as
much as we can if you give us short notice.
Your Boudoir session will take about two hours, This gives you time to change, to fix your hair, and for us
to have time to light, pose you and create your images. It also gives you a
little time to just wind down and relax. Most people are not used to being in
lingerie in front of a camera, so the first several photographs are just to
warm you up to the whole Boudoir session. Don’t worry we are good at making you
feel comfortable in front of a camera and won’t take images that are not
flattering to you.
What should I expect to pay?
This varies on what you actually
want. Our basic package is $200.00 using the location of your choice. This
location can be your own home, or a borrowed home of a friend. Some people will
want to rent a luxury hotel suite. That is up to you. Our basic package
includes, 5 poses, with an 8x10, 5x7, 4-wallets for each pose) for an
additional 100$ we add a 20 page 5x5 or 4x6 Black Book album, these are
beautiful books ask to see a sample. There is even an option for a smaller
wallet sized book. We can do a calendar
also If you like.
If we shoot in studio, there is an
additional studio fee of $50.00. Most people feel more comfortable at home or
in a borrowed house, but this is an option.
Should I bring anyone along?
We touched on this earlier, and we are more than happy to let you have
someone with you. We suggest a member of your same sex, perhaps a best
friend. Some people feel more comfortable
bringing a friend because it makes them feel more at ease if they can have
someone to talk to, plus they may be able to add with suggestions. However, some
brides feel a little embarrassed posing that exposed and wish they had not
brought anyone with them. This is your choice and should be based on whatever
you think will add to your boudoir portrait session the best it can possibly
be.
Parties
This has been a request we have had, and we are willing to set up at your
parties and do a Glamour/Boudoir setting, either in the main area with everyone
or one-on-one in another room. The host
of the party will get a free basic package if at least 5 people pose for
pictures.
Who
can view my pictures?
Only you can view your pictures, either in person on online with a password
protected web page. Your pictures will never be shown to anyone without your
express permission. You can either pick up your pictures personally, we can
hand deliver them, or we can mail them to you via Fed-Ex.
